Video Only is one of San Mateo’s local electronic stores, similar to a smaller version of Circuit City. They have quite a large selection of TV’s, VCR’s, cameras, DVD players and video equipment at very low prices. They’re located at 1801 South Grant Street in San Mateo. There are also three other Bay Area locations.
Trader Joe’s is one of San Mateo’s specialty grocery stores and is located at 1820 South Grant Street. They carry a lot of different food products at bargain prices. The inside of their stores have a neighborhood grocer feel because they are usually fairly small. And, like most Mom and Pop shops, they have great service. They tend to shy away from any name brand merchandise and carry a lot of their own brands. Stop in there next time you’re in San Mateo. You can also try their location across from Hillsdale Mall.
The Vans Restaurant, located at 815 Belmont Avenue in Belmont, CA is one of the few Continental Cuisine Restaurants in Belmont. The Van’s is the restaurant on the hill and one of Belmont’s most iconic spots.
Totos Pizza near where the new Firehouse Square Development will be built, is one of Belmont’s Pizza Restaurants. I’d have to say it’s the best pizza in Belmont and Yelpers seem to agree giving it 4/5 stars. It is located at 1250 El Camino Real in Belmont. (650) 631-8686
The Beli Deli in Belmont is one of Belmont’s deli’s. They’re open for breakfast and lunch. I like to get food there and walk across to Twin Pines Park to have a picnic. The Beli Deli is located at 1301 6th Avenue in Belmont.
